Movement is an important part in my life. I started dancing ballet at the age of 3 and immediately fell in love with this form of art. With daily practice I pursued my goal to turn dance into my profession. During my dance education I had my first experiences with Yoga, which I was always interested in and finally genuinely enjoyed. Therefore I decided to do my Yoga Teacher Training in Thailand, where I was taught the art of meditation by different Yogis from all over the world.
The notable difference for me to learn was, that I no longer had to expose myself in front of an audience, but could now also stand on a mat just for myself. It turned out to be a welcoming change and I was instantly drawn to this philosophy. This helped me to not only be a better dancer, but also a better human. For the first time I have learned what it means to be able to let go, to hear your inner voice and how your breathing affects your whole body. I would like to share these experiences as a teacher, having in mind that Yoga is a life philosophy and not a fitness trend.
Do you have any tips for Yoga newbies?
Yoga is for everyone, regardless if young or old, professional sportsman or beginner. Everyone who would like to learn the art of meditation and do something good for your body and mind is welcome. You don ́t need to have special skills, just be open and curious and try different styles and teachers and find your own way on your mat.
