Yoga Flow to Embrace the New Year (English)

As a part of Emmas Yin Yang Workshop series this is a flow for setting our intention for the new year and creating a beautiful start for 2025. Entering a new year is a great chance to shed old patterns and attitudes and to open up for new experiences and point of views. To support this process this sequence will focus on inversions and forward folds. Inversions and half inversions (such as downward facing dog, dolphin, shoulderstand and headstand to mention some) are grounding and strengthening asanas which are helping to center ourselves as well as acting as a confidence booster as we are getting stronger. This allows us to enter the new year feeling balanced and strong. Some inversions are energizing and some are calming and stress relieving, giving us the perfect mix of feeling both energized and rooted. They also allow us to turn the world upside down for a moment to see new perspectives. Forward folds helps us to bring the attention inwards and thus supports the process of reflection. Giving us the opportunity to reflect on the past, arriving in the present and finally to set the intention for the upcoming year.

As always this workshop consists out of two parts. The first 75 minutes is the active part; a dynamic flow warming up and strengthening your whole body as well as challenging you to deepen your practice and to refine your asanas. Through that active part of moving and challenging your muscles we are also preparing your whole body for the long relaxing stretches that will follow.

Before the second part there will be a short break.

The second part is a 90 minutes yin and restorative session where we will focus on deeper relaxation of the muscles combined with stretching. We will focus on forward bends, lengthening the backside of your body, opening up tight muscles and releasing tension in your back.

Throughout the workshop Emma will be closely with the practitioners, adding hands on assists, pressure and massages to help you relax better.

Level:  All Yogins and Yogis are welcome. For each challenging asana Emma will also give you easier options so you can join this workshop no matter your previous experience.
